Blow Bubbles

I'm here to share a shaker card featuring one of my favorite Bunnies in new digital form, Bunnies at Sea Digistamp!  This card went through several iterations before I was happy with it.

It was a pretty straight forward plan.  I cut and colored the Bunny (Prismacolor pencils) and his fishy friends.  Then I cut some "seaweed" and shaded it with inks using the Fall Foilage SVG/Digi along with some sand paper for the ocean bottom and mounted it all on a Gelli Plate print background from my stash .  This was adhered to the inside of a white card blank.

I cut the porthole (a retired TCP die) from metallic paper and a circle in the card strategically positioned over the bunny.  A traditional shaker element was created with layered acetate and cute little sea themed sequins.  This is what resulted -

This didn't match with the picture I had in my head, so (and I would recommend you do this before adding the shaker if you give it a try) I embossed some card, stained it with Frayed Burlap distress ink and cut it into planks.  I was able to add it fairly easily around the porthole and I was much happier with the result.

A little ginger alcohol ink added to the metallic papers gave it a more aged/distressed look.  Finally the fun sentiment was printed, colored and layered onto "wood" and metallic scraps.

Here are the fun TCP digital products I used for my project today -

As You Like It Challenge #284 - Favorite Sketch

We have a new challenge for you over at As You Like It Challenge this fortnight and I think it's a fun one - Favorite Sketch and be sure to tell us why you have chosen it as your favorite for a chance to win or be chosen in the top 3.

I love a sketch with layers and this one fits that bill.   It works well for florals as well as cute images and allows me to use scalloped die cuts or punches.

This week our sponsor is:

Little Red Wagon 756 - Let's Get Rocked

Here we are, Wednesday again which means it's time for a new Little Red Wagon challenge.  We have our wonderful Kate up as hostess, so that means you are going to be humming very soon.  Kate's Def Leppard fave this week is "Let's Get Rocked".  She wants us to be inspired by the rock song of your choice! Please be sure to let us know the rock song you've chosen and how you've been inspired by it.

I'm afraid my song choice is going to really date me.  I loved Three Dog Night  back in the day and one of my favorite songs was (and still is) "Joy to the World".  I even remember my son singing this when he was toddler.  (The song was an oldie by then).

Obviously the title of this song inspired my Christmas card.  The image is a digi from The Cat's Pajamas and I'm not sure where all the dies are from.  The musical notes are from Frantic stamper.

Why don't you start humming your favorite rock song and give our challenge a go this week.  Just head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up. While you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Aloha,
Brenda

CRAFT Challenge 15th Birthday Blog Hop!

Good Morning All and a Very Happy 15th Birthday to us all here at CRAFT Challenge!!

This year we are 15 years old and still going strong. Only one team member has been present from the start, Jo. She seen a lot of team members come and go over these 15 years, but all have been fabulous and very talented. Even though Jo’s time is limited these days, she still loves being part of this team.

We all feel honoured to be working with such talented and lovely people.

We have a DT call at the moment, so if you feel you would like to join our fabulous team, then simply get in touch with us and let us know.

And now it’s time for our birthday celebrations. This week our challenge is

There is a maximum of 1 entry per person for this challenge and as always it needs to be recent (new) work (so created and posted after this challenge has started). Although we love to see your work, it would put those contestants that put more than 1 entry in at an unfair advantage. The same limitation exists for the prizes to be won on the blogs of our DT members.

Please also turn word verification off as this makes leaving a comment on your lovely creations much easier. We will not leave a comment if you have word verification switched on.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #755 - Make Your Own Background

I am the fortunate hostess over at Little Red Wagon this week.  I am challenging you to make something which uses a background you have created.  You can use any medium you wish; ink, paint, alchohol ink, gel printing, there are so many possibilities.

For my background I used a sticker sheet that was randomly stamped and splattered with distress ink.  I honestly didn't care much for the way it looked here, but here is the reveal -

Much better.  As you can see, I did a bunch of backgrounds, smaller circle sticker sheets and address label sticker sheets.  They all started out looking rather junky.  This is what I ended up with for loads of future creating -

Why don't you give our challenge a go this week by joining us at Little Red Wagon.  Just stop by and link up your project. While you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the Girlfriends have created.

Aloha,
Brenda
